Srimex was formed as a General Trading Company in 2003. Srimex imported commodities such as cement, IT and electrical equipment, cooking oil and milk powder. In 2005 Srimex was granted a license to import petroleum products into Liberia and this license extends to the distribution, commercial retail, bunkering as well as oil exploration. The petroleum import business soon eclipsed other activities and in 2011 Srimex Oil and Gas was formed to focus solely on the import and distribution of this product. Srimex Oil and Gas is 100% owner operated by Mr Musa Bility and he is the ultimate beneficiary of the company.
Srimex Oil and Gas has grown from an importer of modest quantities of PMS into a company that needs to make use of credit lines to increase and then sustain its market share. Imported Volumes of Petroleum Products
- 2015: 36,349 MT of both AGO and PMS between January and July 2015 (17,347 MT of AGO & 19,002 MT of PMS). This represents 20% of the total imports into Liberia they have retained their position as the 2nd biggest importer in Liberia this year . In addition to this Srimex will also supply HFO to China Union.
- 2014: 51,037 MT of both AGO and PMS (26,016 MT of PMS and 25,021 MT of AGO). With the assistance of Eco Fuel as a strategic partner, Srimex has grown into the 2nd largest importer behind Total, up from 7th the previous year.
- 2013: 13,529 MT of PMS.
